Natural wine project rooted in Vienna.
We began in 2023, producing micro-lots with grapes from winegrower friends, and since 2024 we’ve been farming our own vineyards in Neustift am Walde (Vienna). On Vienna’s hillsides, we work organically with biodynamic practices and a minimal intervention approach, caring for over 40 yearold Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, and Chardonnay vines, entirely by hand.
In the cellar, we pursue wines that are vibrant, precise, and honest: spontaneous fermentations, small batches, old barrels, and a clear philosophy: no additives, no corrections.
Our story started earlier. In 2018, after more than a decade living in Argentina, Lukas and Yael began a new chapter together in Vienna, Lukas returning home, Yael arriving for the first time. With family roots in San Juan, where Yael’s grandparents made vino patero (rustic, foot-stomped wine) long before it was trendy, she was instantly drawn to Vienna’s vineyard culture. Between us, we’ve long balanced filmmaking and winemaking, screening films in Berlin, Cannes, and Venice, while our wines quietly ferment nearby.
Finca Obskura takes its name from the camera obscura, where gentle light creates fleeting impressions. In the same spirit, we try to capture the energy of sunlight in each grape, preserving its luminous essence through careful, natural winemaking.
This project is built on a lot of love and work, and we’re deeply grateful to our family and friends, who are always there to lend a hand, share their time, and support us along the way.
